Juan P. Rua, MD is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and robotic procedures. Originally from Colombia and raised in Boca Raton, Florida, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida with degrees in Biology and Anthropology.
Dr. Rua is passionate about helping patients manage obesity, related conditions, and general surgical needs. He has presented nationally on robotic bariatric and foregut surgery and has led educational seminars for both peers and patients. Before joining TGH, he served as a locum tenens surgeon, providing care in rural communities.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Rua is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to diverse populations.
