On December 1, 2023, Bravera Health became part of the Tampa General Hospital family and we are proud to say we are now one combined health system. We are unifying high-quality community health care, academic research and innovation to improve more lives in more ways. Together, we will build a brighter future for health care in Florida.

The acquisition of the Bravera Health Network is complete, and we are now one organization.
The health care landscape across the country, and here in Florida, is evolving. This new landscape provides the opportunity to identify new ways to serve more patients, more teams and more communities. At TGH, we are proud to invest in community hospitals, as they are the backbone of America’s health care system, offering essential care and support to local communities.
As a leading academic medical center, we aim to offer world-class health care, research and innovation in other communities throughout Florida. The integration with Bravera Health aligns perfectly with these goals and allows us to better serve the evolving needs of our community.
Bravera Health has a rich history of providing compassionate health care to the communities they serve. We’re committed to a partnership that honors this treasured past and look toward our shared future.
This is about complementing the commitment to high-quality care that is demonstrated by the Bravera Health team day after day. We will work together to improve efficiency, drive quality, improve clinical outcomes and advance patient safety. TGH is committed to enhancing the services that exist in these communities today.

For Patients and the Community
No aspects of care change today. As one health system, we will be able to create a more seamless patient experience, providing access to comprehensive, high-quality care when people are sick or injured and serving as a true partner in health to help keep people well.
Yes. You can continue to see the same providers you know and trust without disruption and should keep your appointments and continue to visit the providers, clinics and facilities you always have. Our priority will always be providing excellent care to you and the communities we serve.
We are working to secure managed care or commercial insurance contracts for the TGH Crystal River, TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill locations and expect that most contracts will be in effect on December 1. However, some contracts may be delayed and will not be in effect on December 1.
The following contract plans will consider TGH Crystal River, TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill out-of-network until a contract is signed:
- Humana Military - Tricare
- Optum VA
We are working with these companies to initiate contracts as quickly as possible. Until contracts for Humana Military and Optum VA are secured, patients seeking elective services at one of the TGH North hospital locations may choose to:
- Proceed with the elective service and be considered out-of-network
- Wait until the TGH North hospital locations are contracted with the managed care companies
- Seek to obtain their elective services at a facility that is considered in-network for their plan
We will notify you as soon as we have signed contracts with Humana Military – Tricare and Optum VA.
You can continue to access your medical records through your patient portal.
As a mission-driven not-for-profit organization, we can allocate more financial resources towards charitable initiatives, which significantly enhances our ability to meet the needs of the community we’re honored to serve.
